Here's what we do at Sunflower... we keep 6 months of records and SQL
delete the rest. Here's the SQL:

DELETE FROM OSL@@F3/FIP45 WHERE PDAT45 <= CYYMMDD

Substitute your files library for the OSL@@F3 library.

Hi

The FIP45 file for our live environment currently has 19,031,366 records
and
we are
looking to run the archive option for the first time in the next few days.

We have run this option over redundant JBA environments with a similar
number of records and
we found depending on the application code selected this could take
anything
from 3 to 6 hours.

The end result every time has been to clear all records from the files.

This is a very time consuming task and we were wonder has anyone ever done
a
CLRPFM on
this file ? and if so, did they encounter any problems...

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks
