We found what the error was:  the file JBASMG.INI was missing from folder
JBASYS21.  This is the file that has the configuration in it.  As soon as we
copied this over from another PC it worked.

                It's probably associated more with the PC than the user...

                Any chance you're near the limit on user seats...?  I doubt
that's the
                problem, but you have to rule out everything else...

                We get Comms Error 1 or Comms Error 5 mostly...
                Don't ever recall Comms Error 9...

                Usually this means there is some kind of
connection-to-the-host problem...

                I think there is a list of error codes and their meaning but
I have yet to
                find them...

                Even if I could find the list, I suspect their explanations
would be nearly
                as cryptic as the error codes themselves...

                Let me know if you find the table explaining the error
codes...
