In times passed you could have went one of two ways. One was to write your
own interfaces, which some did. The alternative was to go with the
interfaces written by GBA (which I do not believe is available today).

Today, you also have the alternative option of purchasing the interfaces
written by Geac themselves. Led by the folks in Dallas but written in
Canada.

All warehouse location information is configured and maintained in PkMS not
in System/21. System/21 holds the inventory balances, but not the locations
balances. Also, all transactions that effect inventory are normally done in
PkMS and interfaced to System/21.

Art,

Did Manhattan already have a JBA interface, or did they develop it for you?
And I'm curious whether you use JBA warehousing, or maintain all warehouse
location info in the Manahattan system. I don't know whether this question
is appropriate for this forum, but I'm also curious about the price of their
product.

We are a distribution company using Manhattan Associates for receiving, put
away, order pulling and shipping. It uses radio control scanners to enter
information into it's AS400 data base. There is a bridge to JBA that runs
in background similar to the other background subsystems. It is extremely
stable.

                Subject: Data Collection

We are an AS/400 shop using JBA software. We have just
started looking at
some type of data collection (other then manual keypunch) to
collect labor,
production, receiving and shipping. We are curious as to
what other people
are using (equipment/software) and how satisfied you are
with it. We have
looked at a couple of companies but are hoping there may be
a few more out
there. Any help would be appreciated.

                Thanks
