Charles,
You have a very valid point. I know of users who have
been threatened in many ways and consider this to be a
ridiculous position for a customer be in. In my
business life I have never heard of or experienced a
situation where I have bought a product or service and
ended up being threatened or even nervous as to what
the vendor will do to me. 
Since we have 3 alternatives:
a) Stay with GEAC
b) Go to third parties
c) Take the support in house
Why don't we, rather than block hot mail etc. all of
us submit names of third party support organizations
and select say 3-4 of these and formally admit them
into the Group, allow them say a sales mailer once a
week or some such arrangement.
My view is that by trying to keep viable alternatives
hidden from us we are removing the freedom of choices
from users.
