We've been using the Vertex Sales Compliance (AS/400) software and Quantum
Returns (PC) software successfully with JBA for two years. In fact, the
Vertex interface was one of the reasons we chose JBA. We were pretty
committed to Vertex regardless of which ERP system we picked. We purchased
the standard JBA interface, although we've modified it somewhat. We're
currently on v3.5.0 and are working on migrating to v3.5.2 sp3. We just
received sp3 with the Vertex code this week. The reason we wanted Vertex is
because we charge sales and/or use tax in 49 states and it is too difficult
to keep up with all the tax rate changes manually. The Quantum returns
module also saves a lot of time in filing returns. Vertex is rather
expensive when you consider the cost of annual maintenance (which includes
the monthly sales tax rate changes), but it works well and if you have the
need I would definitely recommend the product. Overall, I would say JBA and
Vertex work well together functionally. It is somewhat of a hassle since
JBA isn't using any standard API's but rather has to customize a bunch of
programs, therefore significantly delaying availability of new JBA releases.

Is anyone using the JBA/Vertex Interface?
