We're on release 3.5.0, and I recently worked with the archive/purge
utilities for G/L, A/R, AFI, and Cash Mgmt. The G/L and A/R utilities
didn't work out of the box, but I was able to make them functional with
minor code fixes. The A/R utility had a major logic problem (in our
opinion) that I discussed with the technical support line, but they just
said it was functioning as designed. I decided to make the necessary logic
fixes to the programs anyway, and they worked fine after that.

I didn't execute the AFI utility because it doesn't provide "From/To Period"
selection, only global purging by application (IN,PM,OE,etc). I simply used
SQL to purge and update the required files based on the utility's "purge
logic".

I also didn't execute the Cash Mgmt utility because it was full of Y2K bugs
and I'd already spent too much time researching and fixing the other
utilities.

My 2 cents.

In previous discussions with JBA re archiving I was informed many of the
routines actually loop or fail.
This was the case with v351 but supposedly no longer with v352b.

In may be worth checking with JBA as to which routines actually work
(especially Finance and Inventory)
