RE: Task Exclusivity

Art,

The purpose of the task exclusivity is to stop updates from happening while
running the period end.  There is no way to allow just inquiries to take
place and disallow updates.  It is therefore not recommended to remove the
exclusivity unless you have well trained and disciplined users.  I know it
is certainly not something we would do here, nor would I have recommended to
any site I was at while consulting.

We have been able to remove task exclusivity from the forecast copy to DRP
without any problem.  We are now wondering if it is necessary in some of the
other options.  Does anyone know if it is necessary for A/P period end(5/AP)
and A/R period end (7/AP)?  This prevents users from even doing an inquiry,
Oh, I'm sorry, an enquiry while you are closing a period.  Certainly
overkill.
