Title: Source code questions

1)  Does the source code issue tip the scales to make you consider changing
ERP packages?

        Absolutly. (nuff said)

2)  Will you buy modules without source code?

        No, As Jeff said you have to prove the bugs to support before you can get a good response from them.  Also, without valid documentation, I often need to look at the source to determine why the user is getting a soft error message or a program dump.

3) If approached by a company thinking of buying System 21, will you
recommend they purchase the software?

        I could not recommend that anyone purchase a large software package from a company that uses such draconian (i love that word) tactics as this.  However, the prudent thing would be to let them form their own opinion.  And once I presented the pros and cons of the software, that wouldn't be hard for them to do ...
