Doug,

I applaud your efforts to keep this list going and to keep it clean from
vendor nonsense.  Although, you should not forbid users from comparing
notes.  I for one stay tuned into this forum because of the value most
responses bring, especially Jeff Klipa's postings.  If Jeff want's to share
information on the tools he has found success with, then he should be able
to.  A vendor soliciting modification work is defintely wrong.

Limited vendor input is a good thing, but tough to police.  If a vendor
wants to share experiences, scenarios, etc. that should be fine - but
pushing product and services should be restricted.

Recently we have had an increase of solicitations and borderline
solicitations.  In the past they have been so infrequent, that an
explanation
was the only action taken.  Because of the increase in solicitations, I am
considering removal from the list after the first violation.  This is a
noncommercial list, and a list meant for user to user contact.
