Jim,

I wouldn't exactly say JBA is big in Europe. There are a number of
contenders in this area, I suppose the picture is the same in the
States. I would say SAP has the biggest market share, particularly with
it being available on the AS/400 now. JBA loses out a lot to JD Edwards
as well, I think, mainly due to it's image. It's not really seen as
being particularly "trendy". I must admit, I wouldn't have thought they
would do very well in the US because of the amount of home grown
competition.
We are implementing pretty much most of the modules as well. We have not
got a strong requirement for manufacturing, mainly distribution, but
Quality Management is key here. We are currently implementing the
software in three phases; financials (live next week), SOP &
Distribution, then Purchasing & Production. We are aiming to have it all
live by the end of the year to give us a year to sift out all of the
other problems left with the Y2K issue.
