This code means you do not have privilege to perform the operation you are
trying to do on the table, this is an authorization issue, check if you
have authorization to read the MS SQL Database outside of your IBM I. If I
were you I would try to run my SQL using STRSQL before embedded in any
program at least I would run a simple select against that table.

I am trying to validate data from our V5R4 system against a MS SQL
database.
I am using ARDGATE to access MS SQL.

I created the RDBDIRE to the MS SQL system.

I am able to CONNECT to that system in STRSQL.

I can run a simple statement - SELECT COUNT(*) from AXTRN01..UNITOFMEASURE
in STRSQL.

I have written a service program to perform this command and the RPG
CONNECTS successfully. Due to the MS SQL name I have had to use dynamic SQL
to try and access the record.

When I run the SELECT in the RPG, I get error SQL error -551 = SQL0551.

Google is not my friend today and it appears that I need some authority
somewhere. Can anyone help?

TIA.
