Yes, That is the desired behavior. The records, more often than not, will be edited. In that scenario it is just a whole lot easier to close the cursor and reset everything. The cursor is closed when ProgB returns to ProgA. ProgA's subfile must be rewritten to display current data, so starting over is easiest, fastest and most robust. In my opinion. Additionally, in this application there is another file involved that is also updated so refilling the subfiles makes sense.

On the first cycle, yes. Are you saying that the cursor gets
closed each time so that the subfile rrn always works on the first time
into the cursor?
