If you need to run some scripted Telnet operations and are open to commercial options, download and test a trial of AutoMate.

It's a Windows based process but can be connected to IBMi systems to trigger automation tasks as well.

The terminal actions will allow you to create fully automated Telnet sequences and pass soft coded data as well.

Feel free to reach out by phone or email and I'm happy to help you get jump started or one of our support people can also help.

About 30 minutes to Telnet automation.......complete.

subject: communicating via telnet with windows 2012 server

I have to communicate with a windows 2012 server via telnet in order to change a network password. This is the only option i am given. Is there a way to automate such a process? I think i need to use sockets, but have never done this before.

Any suggestions or places to go to view samples?
