copybooks -- but you can do much the same thing at the individual
prototype level. For individual prototypes you would just wrap them in
the /IF directive instead of using the /EOF directive.

Last word on the subject... I found an example where we can have the same
constant in multiple copybooks because it is a cross-application
definition. So, the following example can be used for any individual
definition.
