For years I use Beyond Compare and I find it one of the better tools in my
toolbox.
It integrates well with Rational as an external editor via the beyondcvs
eclipse plugin (http://beyondcvs.sourceforge.net)

I have to say that I use it from the iProjects perspective, I don't know if
BC works directly in RSE.

I have been using CMPPFM to analyze source code changes to our RPG programs
as part of our code review and approval process. For most of our changes it
is fine, but whenever there is a bigger change it can be very hard to sort
through and I'm looking for a better option. I currently have Rational 9.5,
but the stock compare utility is worse than CMPPFM in my opinion.

I am aware of the iSphere plugin but have not used it myself. I'm not
opposed to paying for the tool if it's worth it, and actually the powers at
be in my office would probably be more likely to approve a paid tool. But
I'm not really aware of anything. I'm curious what others use? Something
that comes with your change management?

Thanks for your help!
