Basic subfile stuff. SFLPAG is the number of records to load on a single
page. SFLSIZ is the number of records to load into subfile.

So user position the input file and program loads twelve records and
displays subfile. That page appears and user hits the roll key, program
loads twelve more records and the subfile is extended. Say the user presses
the roll up key two more times, now you have 4 pages loaded. If the user
press the roll down key the operating system will just roll back in the
subfile up to four pages. When you hit the fifth roll down it will break
and return to the program and programmer would need to reload the subfile.

This is called single page load. You can also set the values equal and each
time the user rolls forward or back the subfile is cleared and the page is
loaded.

Usually SFLSIZ is a multiple of SFLPAG.

Subfiles are very complex subject and many AS/400 programmers don't really
understand them.

HI I have a subfile defined below. the user is saying that the program
limits her towards how many she can enter. This screen is used to store
rebate data. It can be alot of rebates per an item as some start at
different times etc.

I saw that in fact there is a limit looks like 12 rows to me. My quesion is
in the below code
what is the purpose of 1000 on the sfl? There is no business reason to
limit them to 12 rows of rebate per item. If I want to allow more lines
per item do I change the pag or the siz?

A SFLSIZ(1000)
A SFLPAG(0012)
