I know mlazarus stated earlier that his clients would not go for
"another language or environment to support", and I'm sure others are
in a similar boat; but it's a little painful to see so much struggle
just to get the setup right for POI.

Granted, I'm confident that lots of people get POI working right off
the bat, but it seems some are still wrestling with it days or even
weeks after trying to get started.

With Python, there are a lot fewer pieces involved, and you can get up
and running in minutes, not days. Well, I should say with
iSeriesPython it's minutes. With IBM's official Python for PASE, it
could be anywhere from minutes to hours; I don't know. For V5R4,
iSeriesPython is the only available Python for i, and it works exactly
the same when installed on anything from V5R3 up to the latest
7.whatever.

And while Python is "another language", and not pre-installed on the i
like Java usually is, all of Python is probably a smaller download
than POI. And if you have the luxury of installing IBM's Python, it's
(presumably) supported by IBM.
