How often does this question come up? If it comes up, I ask "do you mean the new free format H,F and D specs? Or the older C-specs?" I haven't found that the question comes up so frequently that a "term" (rather than a description) is needed for me.

I also never use the phrase "RPG free". I refer to it as "Free form RPG" or "free format RPG". The phrase "RPG free" sounds too much like "RPG III" and since "RPG free" is not an official name, you always have to ask for clarification of what it means.

Since we've had many years of RPG/Free meaning freeform C-specs, how do you refer to the new freeform? I ask because ever since the new freeform came out, I've found that I've had to differentiate between RPG Free and what I've poorly dubbed "fully freeform RPG."

I'm sure there will come a time when there is no need to differentiate, but at this time if an RPG programmer says they know RPG Free, until told otherwise I assume they do not know the new freeform syntax.

Thoughts?
