There's always the "good ole" RPG Redbook - pretty good place to start as it has a bit of everything. Written for V4R2 (?) I think so a fair bit has changed - but it was partly written to show RPGers how and why they should make the switch to RPG IV. Everything in there from soup to nuts.

Scott Klement has a nice intro to ILE in his website ( http://www.
scottklement.com ). It's a little bit dated, so if you check IBM's
Infocenter you can download the RPGLE reference manuals and check any
enhancements for the OS version you are running currently. Also, get a copy
of the ILE RPG Programmer's Guide (Infocenter).

If you haven't done so already, I would strongly suggest you learn
SQLboth, as standalone apps (Procedures, functions, etc) and as
related to
RPG ("Embedded SQL"). Go the /free route (forget all that columnar stuff
:-) )

And, as I am sure you already know: Practice, practice!!

Luis

I was a programmer quite some time ago, as a matter of fact I last worked

RPG400. With the limited opportunities for admins, I'm looking to get back

get
back up to speed. I have not worked ILE at all.

Thanks,
