You've been working on this for something like 2 months and still evaluating options for communicating between .Net and RPG? It appears that given all the constraints you've mentioned, your company is channeling you into doing most of the processing on the .Net side. If that's the case, then you could have the .Net application parse incoming XML and output it to IBM i DB table rows, then call your RPG program via stored procedure. Your RPG program could process the data and output a response to an IBM i DB. The .Net program could read the data and format an XML response to the 3rd party.

RPG offers exceptional performance for DB I/O.

I suppose it could be broken down into that Buck, the only problem is I
need to process the data in its entirety and send back a response in 10
seconds. That isn't something that I can change. Its a hard requirement.
