Yeah...but it is huge...i think the theoretical limit is 2G, but don't quote me here. We are currently defining our input parm as:

dparm_xml_in s sqltype(CLOB:1048576)

but you can go much larger than this if needed.

Alternately, you could write the xml to the IFS and process the document piece by piece. This eliminates the size issue as you can break the xml-doc into bite-size portions. The manuals explain how to do this better than I can here.

Is there a limit on the size for passing the xml?

Then the XML method can work for you. It is the method we use in our
.net environment. The key is making sure the xml tag names are the
same as the field names in the DS.

Gerardo...I think that the example is all you need to get started. If
you've no repeating data within the group, then just ignore the DS
references.

You did not Steve,
the .net is sending the data, the iseries side is processing and
sending back a line by line response code.

This will send data...i thought he was talking of receiving it.

Because of the line:

" We have a windows app that would call a stored procedure and pass
it approximately 59 fields of data, but it can contain up to 99 rows
of data."

I thought the windows app was sending the data, not the other way round.

I apologize if I misunderstood the question.

Are you looking at returning the DS as the result set? If so, that's
no problem. Just load a DS array and return it. Here's the RDp
snippet I use for the return:
EXEC SQL SET RESULT SETS ARRAY :${Data Structure} FOR
:${Rows} ROWS;
