I know you can do it with calls to C "puts()" running in a batch job (which maps STDIO to a spool file). If you want several programs writing to the same spool file, they all have to be running in the same activation group.

And for all I know, running all the programs in the same activation group may be the key to doing it with RPG I/O, as well. Or not.
