Hmm. That reminds me of one of the recent acquisitions at the International Printing Museum: a Heidelberg cylinder press. Even though it has thousands of pounds of metal (including the type forme) moving around, constantly changing both speed and direction, you can stand a dime on edge, on any convenient fixed, level surface on the press, while it's running full speed, and it will *not* fall over.

German engineering indeed.
