processing has to be fully automated. Injecting single quotes
programmatically into a data file will either be ineffective or will

This is why I suggested using the tool to set the number format of the cell to text before putting the data there. This should be doable in code - I always suggested that when using RJS' RPG2SQL Integrator, and it always worked. No extra data either. :) I believe Richard may have been referring to this when he said "Excel formatting".
