Good to know I wasn't alone in trying to find a good XML update example :-)

Probably would be a good topic worth re-visiting, especially since Java performance with the 32-Bit JVM has come a long way.

Especially if you're teaching i folks how to maximize the box.

Here's a good session title: Using Java and CL Together to Read and Write XML Files

Happy holidays.

Just got done playing Santa :-)

Have you done XML updates from RPG before ?

Kind of a moot point since I solved the problem, but looks like it's Java from now on for XML processing.

No Richard I haven't - I gave up once I found how badly the examples were written. (i.e. C code converted to RPG syntax %Alloc and all) At the time I was investigating for a client who was willing to pay for a solution so they purchased a third-party solution in the end. They had used a Java solution previously but the performance would not support the kind of volumes they required.
