After looking at the job log I see it isn't a problem with the var len
field. It is a problem with date fields. I added the alwnul statement

Then don't use monitor endmon to bypass the problem, but use monitor endmon to capture the problem and substitute zeros or blanks to whatever field (or fields) are the problem.
What message id do you receive when the problem happens?

I get the error 'unexpected null value' How can I fix this?

We really need a bit more info than that. But the most common cause of varying length problems is incorrect initialization due to including it in a DS that has no INZ keyword and no INZ on the field itself.

Since you are getting a null error though we're probably going to need to see some code.
