I put a high level description in the prototype and the same text at the
top of the method body. Then I comment each block of code verbosely. It's
amazing how helpful that is a year or two later when a change is needed.
I don't care how descriptive the variable and constant names are (and
they should be.) Comments are essential. Why in the world did I do that?
Oh, yeah, there it is. Sometimes I impress myself. Sometimes not, but at
least I know why...
