Thank you for the link. The 'P' edit code drops the comma. But
result string is still left justified. No idea what the consultant
will say bout that.

A test showed that 1234.56 a packed field, was converted to 123456.

I have no idea if the minus sign will show.

Should I use %wditc instead?  What code will show a decimal point, no
commas, and a leading minus sign?
