Hi Nancy!

First of all, as others have pointed out, as long as we have applications written in RPG, RPG will stick around. But over time, I think it's clear that more and more new development will move away from RPG. Consider that PHP is available on the IBM i. That has got to be tempting for a lot of i shops.

I'm not going to make any predictions about what languages are going to be used 5 or 10 years from now. But if you want to know where things are now, just look at the job postings.

And I can tell you about my own personal experiences. I recently moved to a city with a population of 115,000. I knew it wouldn't be easy finding work here. But after just 5 weeks of learning PHP, I had a job as a PHP programmer.
