You shouldn't be getting any compile errors...I use tables with long
names in RPG IV all the time..

The system automatically defines (or you can explicitly define) a
short name for the column...prior to the ALIAS support added in 7.1,
the short name would be used by RPG.

Can you post an example showing your problem?
