Hi Bob,

If you're open to commercial options, our iSeries Office Integrator product can launch apps via Shell or Shellexecute. Can also wait for app completion, open web sites, do desktop file transfers, word mail merges, vb scripting and more.

If you're interested in playing with the software, feel free to visit our web site or contact me directly and I can send demo codes.

Regards,
Richard Schoen

Is there an equivalent of ShellExecuteA that can be run from an RPGIV
program to
open a file on the user's PC?
