That gave me a chuckle, Henrik. People can be like that. You don't want to waste
too much time on them. One alternative might be to use your considerable skill
and productivity to develop applications for end users. Someone on Linkedin
commented about the scarcity of vendors supporting IBM i in the hotel industry.
Agilysis was
mentioned http://www.agilysys.com/home/Hospitality/Solutions/pms.htm, which as
far as I can tell is the only vendor listed in the IBM Global Solutions
directory offering an IBM i based lodging management system, but who more
recently began promoting a Windows based alternative. That's a shame. I'm sure
the hotel industry has the means to support numerous vendors supporting IBM i.
From personal experience, it's a lot easier to get end users interested in
software products than developers, and end-users are less prone to demand free
and open source offerings.
