Not trying to be funny, but I would say that ANYTHING in memory is valid
numeric data. A single byte can represent 256 different values...

Trying to look into memory and determine if it looks "packed" or "zoned"
or "binary" seems risky to me, and probably guaranteed to make you look
foolish at some point in time...
