How do you set something up to do a request message, are you talking
about
doing something in CL that requires a reply on QSYSOPR?
Yes but the message doesn't have to go to QSYSOPR. You can structure
the data area, or user space if you prefer, to contain information to
skip the debug step.
From To Desc
1 1 Debug in progress.
1 = in progress so ignore sending the inquiry message
Anything else send the inquiry message if position 2 is 1
2 2 Send Inquiry message.
1 = Send the message I want to debug a session.
Anything else don't send the message.
So if your program finds a 1 position 2, it sends the inquiry message.
The procedure sending the inquiry message sets position 1 a value of 1.
When you finish debugging your program manually reset the data area and
end debug.
