(sorry, but I keep thinking this is the kind of problem I generally have, and with me, every time it turns out to be a typo or typo-like error.)

Have you tried copy and pasting the code from your e-mail back into another source member and repeating the process?

Can you use DSPLY (or similar) instead of debug? That way you know if it is a debugger issue.)

Yeah, Booth, I tried this over and over again. I signed completely off
and back on. I must be in between PTFs, although we have a relatively
recent cume. It will be interesting to find out what makes this go away.

Really stupid comment that I already regret but can't keep myself from
hitting the send button:

Joe, did this repeat when you signed out and then signed back in?

Subject: Wanna see something scary?

Take a look at this code:

d MyConstant c 'Data'

/free

DoProc();
*inlr = *on;

/end-free

p DoProc b
d pi
/free
MyProc( MyConstant);
/end-free
p e

p MyProc b
d pi
d MyParm 10 const
d tempvar s 10
/free
tempvar = MyParm;
/end-free
p e

What would you expect tempvar to get set to? I think it would be "Data"
but I would be wrong. It gets blanks, at least on my system.

Joe
