I was hoping to not do that. I've worked with both XML-INTO and SAX, but
was hoping IBM did it right in being able to pull by selection.

Using the XML-SAX stuff is pretty easy if you're in V5R4 or newer.

Scott Klement has done a few articles on this.

If you simply spin through the XML file you pick off the elements you need
as it parses.
