Like I said, technically if it compiles with the ILE RPG compiler,
it's RPGIV (using the official names Barbara provided)....

But lets look at it this way, assume you hire somebody who claims he
builds ILE RPG programs...

But the way he does so is by writing RPGIII source and running it
through CVTRPGSRC.

Would _you_ find that acceptable?

Now assume the guy gives you the exact same RPGLE source, keyed
directly (with SEU of course) into a source member. How is it anymore
acceptable?

It's my opinion, but I make a distinction between code run through
CVTRPGSRC (either the actual command or a mental version in somebody's
head :) and code that uses features and op-codes available only in
RPGIV.

It follows the RPG IV language specification, and can be compiled by an
RPG IV compiler.  As you, yourself, point out, it's technically RPG IV.
