Hi Kurt,

<snip>
From my experience, Scott's expat is exponentially faster. (Speed's a big concern in my shop.)
</snip>
Really? I'm not questioning your concern about speed in your shop. But I am interested in your experiences with XML-SAX vs the i port of expat.

Do you have any benchmark tests you can pass over so I can run them? I have been using XML-SAX since it was available and I've NEVER EVER had an issue with regard to performance.

You say expat is exponentially faster. Do you actually mean the performance difference between the two products is exponentially related to the document size / number of nodes or did you use the word to cover the more general 'really big' performance difference?

I am actually genuinely intrigued. I'd have imagined that the really simple RPG XML-SAX parser would always out-perform expat. I may be wrong and would like to learn more about your experiences.

Cheers

Larry Ducie
