Hey Vern, thanks for the reply.

I'm 100% clear on your meaning of 'mixing regular with CLI', and perhaps
my expanation was a bit vague.
My intention is to build an sql string, and have the CLI stuff execute and
fetch me my results. I
have no intention of start with an RPG/SQL to build the Prepare, and then
have the CLI
Fetch me my records. No, just 100% CLI.
Like I said, I've got an awesome beta work now, but I haven't really put
it into a true stress-test, yet.

I'd suggest that you not mix regular embedded SQL with the CLI stuff - I
believe they use the same structures and will conflict in mysterious
ways. Even if that's not the case, they don't play well together in my
experience.

This is the only way at this time to get a recordset back from a stored
procedure in RPG.

Hey guys,

I'm just curious to know is anyone is using the c procedures (in RPG)
for
ODBC connections and the other SQL procedures.
I've got a great usage for these procedures, and have my beta
running....
However, I'm new to these procedures
and am curious of any drawbacks, performance lags, etc, that may change
my
mind. Or, (which I'm hoping), that this
is savior of truly dynamic SQL and I'm a fool for not using this in the
past. (haha)

Either way, I'd like to hear back from anyone with experience with these
procedures.

I add the "(in RPG)" statement in my first sentence so to make sure I
stay
correct in the forums guidelines.
I did create a c-program to do what I wanted, but was able to duplicate
the whole process in RPG. (yeah).

Thanks in advance to any replies.
