It's a manager miskeying a number. She meant to key 506 and keyed 5-6
instead (from the numbers at the top of the keyboard). She wants it fixed
to prevent this. I also discovered a plus sign in the middle of the number
is ignored (i.e. 34+7 is seen as 347).

Normally the wedge will be used, so this would be a non-issue. This is for
a sister company we are bringing onto our system, so they will likely only
be hand-keying in the weights to enter all their product into the initial
inventory. They have bales of feathers in the 500-1100 pound range and
don't want to pull all of them onto the scale to create the tickets the
"normal" way. These bales do have the weight hand-written on them so don't
need reweighed at this time. This process creates a label with a bar code
that is used in further processing and/or shipping.

Thanks.

Mark,

What kind of numeric value is 5-6? Is that supposed to be a fraction?
Perhaps it's supposed to be lbs-ozs to represent a weight?
