Yes - that is the kind of strategy I mean. The point at which we might disagree is that I normally wouldn't bother with getters/setters for every single column. If it is never retrieved by itself, only as part of an "object" (i.e. Data Structure in RPG and object or an array in PHP) then I see no virtue in having that additional level, only overhead.
