Re: lazy, /dumb or inept programmer

Yes, I typically fetch 100 rows at a time into a mutli-occurence
datastructure. Looping thru the datastructure is faster than fetch a
single record at a time (at least in the programs I have written).

In my 23 years, I have never found OPNQRYF to be easy. Once I

learned

SQL
and then embedded SQL, I never even considered using OPNQRYF again.

To

me,
a SQL cursor and SELECT statement is much easier, especially when

using

dynamic selection and/or sort criteria, than an OPNQRYF.
