I'm just curious - is IBM actually speaking of a New Programming
Model?
I thought there was still only OPM and ILE.

During development internal documentation referred to OPM (Old Program
Model) and NPM (New Program Model).

NPM was eventually named ILE (possibly to link up with the existing LE
of the mainframe world). OPM was subtly changed to Original Program
Model because in this modern world of politically correct weasel-words
and new-speak "old" supposedly had unfavourable connotations.

For the nostalgia freaks^H^H^H^H^H^H^H fans, When C was first introduced
onto the (OS/400) platform, there was actually another program model: the
EPM, or Extended Program Model.
