Which is why more poeple should add themselves to the request for PCML to support all data types. The request list starts here: http://www-912.ibm.com/j_dir/JTOpen.nsf/%28$All%29/7589FDA21CB026B3862576170058B28A?OpenDocument

The compiler can do nothing unless it knows what the called routine requires as parameters. That requires a degree of introspection that is not currently available. The basic mechanics are in place with the ability to store PCML in the PGM/SRVPGM object - however the folks who own PCML have not updated it to handle all data types and so we are stuck until they do so.

And if this were all automatic, no special keywords necessary, the compiler just determines the type needed based on the parameters passed on the call, that would be even better.
