I need an way for an RPG program to check for the existence of a file in a
specific ifs directory, but I only know part of the file name. If any
files matching that partial name exist, the program must display the names
to the user.

I've seen plenty of examples of looking specific files or for listing an
entire directory, but I've yet to find one that does a wildcard search.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

By the way, I've already tried listing the entire directory and only using
those objects that have names matching the key. It worked, but for the
larger directories it took way to long for interactive processing. I need
a way to retrieve just the file names that match "100103*.*" (if any).

Thanks,

Paul T.
