Well I'm glad I'm not going completely insane Scott. I _know_ the program this code was taken from worked a few releases back. Must have been V5R2 because I think that's the point when the extra parm was added to avoid the double-open issue.

I guess somewhere along the road between V5R2 and V5R4 things were tightened up.
