Is there a less clumsyr way than this for the code?
If %parms=3

else

CALL MyPgm

PARM parm1
PARM parm2

endif

Is there no way that you can get out of the Call-Program-By-Variable-
Name business?

Actually, you can call your program with the maximum number of
parameters. iSeries programs/CALLs do not fail due to excessive
parameters.

I'm sorry, I just re-read your issue. My response doesn't apply. Instead,
we'd need to know more. For example: Is the called program sensitive to the
number of parameters that it's passed?

I tend to have variables that are set to defaults via INZ() parameter. Then
if a parameter overrides that, I copy the parameter values in. So I might
have a prototype with two parms: PARM1 and OPTPARM2. WORKPARM1 = PARM1. If
%Parms > 1 WORKPARM2 = OptPARM2.

Now I can call my program with WORKPARM1, WORKPARM2 as parameters. Does
that help?

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
