If you had asked "is there a way to convert a number to hex" I could've easily given you a solution.

But you asked if there's a "more elegant" way. More elegant than WHAT? You mention an "overlay solution", and I don't know what that is?

I've checked the archives and FAQ, but wondered if someone has a more
elegant solution. I need to convert an unknown decimal number (probably can
limit the number of digits though) to hex. Is the overlay solution the best?
cvthc? Basically I want to take a number like 140 and convert it to 8C, or a
number like 1234 and convert it to 04D2. TIA...
