I have some code which was written by Gene Gaunt, for a utility called
DSPDSPF, which uses the QDFRTVFD API in all its glory (and bear in mind that
DSPDSPF is probably the most complex of all the IBM API's). It may help you.

Anyway, you can download it from the mcpressonline.com website - just search
for DSPDSPF. Otherwise let me know and I can send you a copy - I can't post
it here because it's too big and I don't think midrange.com allows
attachments.
