I have a character field defined as 9A.
This field is an edited representation of a 8.4 numeric field with leading blanks.
Given the value '     .1525', when I compare it to *ZERO using the instruction If %TrimL(Field) > *ZERO, the compare fails.
Using a value of '0000.1525', the compare also fails.
Using a value of  '    1.0000' or anything with a value to the left of the decimal point, the compare works.
I am on a V5R4M5 system with PTF TL58305 installed.

Can someone explain why this does not work as I would expect?

Thanks,
